Role: IT Buyer
Location: Manchester, Stockport or Preston (hybrid)
Salary: £45,000 - £52,000 plus car allowance & Bonus
Job Description:
Our client seeking an experienced IT Buyer with a background in public sector procurement to manage the acquisition of IT products, services, and solutions. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with public procurement regulations, negotiate supplier contracts, and support the organisation’s technology goals through strategic purchasing.
Key Responsibilities:
* Source, evaluate, and purchase IT goods and services in line with public sector procurement policies
* Manage supplier relationships and negotiate contract terms to ensure value for money
* Work closely with internal stakeholders to identify technology needs and support project delivery
* Maintain accurate procurement records and ensure audit-readiness
* Monitor market trends and provide insights for IT procurement strategies
Requirements:
* Proven experience as an IT Buyer or in a similar procurement role within the public sector
* Understanding of public procurement regulations (e.g., PCR 2015 or equivalent)
* Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
* Knowledge of IT products, services, and contract frameworks
