Under contract to the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), LGC hosts and operates the UK’s combined Official Medicines Control Laboratory (OMCL) for chemical testing and the British Pharmacopoeia (BP) Commission Laboratory.
The work of The MHRA Laboratories at LGC helps the MHRA protect public health by ensuring that medicines and healthcare products are safe for those who use them. The laboratories are operated under government Owned, Contractor Operated (GOCO) model at our site in Teddington.
One of The MHRA Laboratory's primary roles is to procure, establish and maintain reference standards(British Pharmacopoeia Chemical Reference Substances - BPCRS). The laboratory also supports the work of the British Pharmacopoeia Commission in establishing methods (known as monographs) for generic medicinal products (including herbals) available in the UK. The monographs established by laboratory staff are subsequently published in the British Pharmacopoeia.
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Service Delivery Lead to join our dynamic team in Guildford, United Kingdom. As the Service Delivery Lead, you will be responsible for optimising our service delivery processes by acting as a point of reference for technical advice and guidance to Analytical Chemists and the customer, ensuring customer satisfaction, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
* Lead the service delivery aspect of the team, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance management
* Help to develop and implement service delivery strategies aligned with organisational goals and customer needs
* Work with the Operations Manager/Team leader and the Deputy Team Leader to develop the team and manage associated risks of change
* Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure service delivery effectiveness and efficiency to achieve delivery targets
* Collaborate with cross-functional workstreams to ensure seamless end-to-end service delivery
* Work with the Operations Manager/Team leader and the Deputy Team Leader to manage stakeholder relationships, including customer, staff, and internal departments
* Identify and mitigate risks associated with service delivery processes
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service quality and operational efficiency
* Prepare and present regular reports on service delivery performance
* Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and best practices such as ISO17025 and ISO9001
Qualifications
* Previous Line Management experience is essential
* A sound background in Chemistry, to at least degree level, with extensive practical experience in analytical chemistry
* Experience in service delivery management, with a proven track record of successful project delivery
* Excellent project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams
* Proficiency in developing and tracking performance metrics and KPIs
* Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management and client relationship building
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make decisive decisions
* Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
* Proven ability to manage and allocate resources effectively
* Experience in risk management and mitigation strategies
* Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
