Maternity Cover Teaching Position - KS3 SEMH Class
Start Date: After Easter Half Term
We are looking for an experienced and compassionate teacher to cover maternity leave in a KS3 SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) class. This role involves working with students who have experienced trauma, using a trauma-informed approach to support their emotional, social, and academic development.
Key Responsibilities:
-Plan and deliver lessons in a trauma-sensitive manner, ensuring the needs of students with SEMH are met.
-Create a safe, calm, and structured learning environment where students feel supported and understood.
-Build positive relationships with students, promoting trust and emotional regulation.
-Collaborate with a team of support staff to provide holistic, tailored support for each pupil.
About You:
-Qualified teacher with experience working with students with SEMH and trauma-related needs.
Knowledge of trauma-informed teaching practices and the ability to create a safe learning space.
-Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage students with challenging behaviours.
-Compassionate, patient, and committed to fostering positive change in students' lives.
The Role:
-Full-time maternity cover position starting after Easter half term.
-Small class sizes (average 8-10 pupils), with dedicated support staff.
-Work within a supportive team and a purpose-built, calming environment designed to meet the needs of students with SEMH.
