Your Role as a Deputy Lead Early Years Practitioner
We are seeking a compassionate and committed Deputy Lead Early Years Practitioner to join the mother and Baby Unit at HMP Peterborough. This is a unique opportunity to support some of the most vulnerable individuals in our care, helping mothers build strong, nurturing relationships with their children during a critical period of their lives.
In this role, you will oversee the running of the nursery in the absence of the Early Years Manager and work collaboratively with the team to provide a safe, secure and caring environment for children under the age of two. You'll support the delivery of high-quality early years education in line with EYFS and OFSTED standards, while promoting trust, confidence and growth among the mothers on the unit.
You will also liaise with external health professionals, support safeguarding procedures, and take responsibility for maintaining accurate childcare plans, updating policies and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement within the nursery setting.

The Ideal Candidate
Essential:
* Minimum of NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in childcare
* Minimum age of 18 years due to the environment
* Experience working with children under two years old
Desirable:
* Paediatric first aid certificate (training can be provided if not held)
