Our client is recruiting for an exciting opportunity as Project Manager to help build a capability and develop a usable design library that creates innovative standardisation solutions alongside financial efficiencies.
As Project Manager, you will manage projects from inception to handover on a variety of complex and technically challenging projects. You will assemble a Project Management team, develop the design with the client through agreed procurement routes, and determine deliverables required under the RIBA stages of the project. The position involves working within an MOD base, so high-level security clearance is required.
What are the key responsibilities?
1. Plan projects using Microsoft Project or similar programs
2. Identify and review consultants' proposals, qualifications, and design information to meet client requirements
3. Undertake value engineering exercises early in the design process
4. Build, maintain, and manage a central design library to maximize previous designs and improve efficiency
5. Provide guidance and support to contracts to ensure compliance with BIM requirements and contractual design standards
6. Assess BIM maturity of suppliers throughout the project
7. Select appropriate tender lists for construction and respond to queries from tendering parties
What you'll need to succeed
You will be an experienced Project Manager within Design and Construction, ideally with experience in a secure environment such as MOD or military settings. You should understand the full RIBA process and have extensive knowledge of Health and Safety legislation, holding a valid CSCS card and SMSTS certification. Additionally, you will need:
1. Good understanding of RIBA stages
2. Strong technical construction knowledge
3. Knowledge of current Building Regulations and M&E designs
4. Experience with projects achieving BREEAM/DREAM ratings
5. Proficiency in AutoCAD
6. Knowledge and review of BIM models
