This is an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated team that is being setup to tackle fly-tipping in Bristol. Your background may not be in enforcement, but you will have an ability to understand and apply legislation, to gather evidence in support of investigations, and be willing to work in potentially confrontational and challenging circumstances. Neighbourhood Enforcement works closely with other council teams in particular Housing, Clean Streets as well as others in the community such as the police, business, citizens groups and the council’s environment enforcement contractor. You will have plenty of opportunity for shadowing colleagues, for learning and development and will be part of a supportive team. You will: Investigating fly-tipping and taking appropriate action which could include the issuing of Fixed Penalty Notices and/or collating evidence to form the basis of a prosecution. Issuing notices for non-compliance with environmental legislation. Undertaking checks of commercial premises to ensure compliance with legislation regarding waste management. Please note that the role will also sometimes involve working early mornings, evenings and some weekends. Why Bristol City Council?
