Overview
We are seeking a reliable and efficient Courier to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the timely delivery of packages and documents, ensuring that all items are handled with care and delivered to the correct locations. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to navigate various routes effectively. The ideal candidate will be responsible for working with courier company DPD, and should preferably have their own vehicle. The role requires the candidate to be flexible and available to work across the Central Belt of Scotland and Fife.
Responsibilities
* Safely operate a vehicle to deliver goods to various locations.
* Ensure timely and accurate delivery of products while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
* Load and unload items, which may involve heavy lifting, ensuring that all goods are handled with care.
* Maintain clear communication with team members and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.
* Conduct routine checks on the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition, reporting any maintenance needs promptly.
* Assist in warehouse duties as required, including inventory management and organisation of stock.
Qualifications
* Previous experience as a delivery driver is essential, with a strong understanding of driving requirements.
* Commercial driving experience is preferred, demonstrating familiarity with larger vehicles and relevant regulations.
* Proven ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with customers and colleagues.
* Prior warehouse experience is advantageous, showcasing an understanding of logistics operations.
