Advanced Nurse Prescriber - Children's Primary Care ADHD Service
Job Responsibilities:
1. Work autonomously in clinics to provide holistic reviews for children and young adults regarding ADHD medication management.
2. Adjust drug treatments appropriately, in accordance with protocols, guidelines, and with support from the senior team.
3. Share prescribing recommendations with the child's GP, following NMC and NICE guidelines.
4. Collaborate with the wider team and liaise with colleagues in HPFT and other services.
5. Monitor patients with ADHD on medication through nurse-led clinics, communicate changes to the team, and guide pharmaceutical treatments for children and young people up to age 18.
6. Take a holistic approach to care, considering various factors affecting the child's function and behavior, and ensure their voice is heard during reviews.
7. Attend multi-agency meetings, write reports, and plan care, acting as a patient advocate and adhering to safeguarding policies.
8. Discuss complex cases with supervising GPs and ensure appropriate referrals.
9. Contribute to developing informational materials about medication and ADHD for families and professionals.
10. Ensure effective use of resources and maintain accurate patient records.
11. Monitor service performance regularly, collect data, and report for audits and statistical purposes.
