Simulator Engineer / Flight Simulator Technician
for a
Shift Lead position
in Burgess Hill.
This role is ideal for a
Simulator Engineer, Maintenance Technician, or Flight Simulator Specialist
with 10+ years' experience who is ready to step into a formal leadership role. You'll oversee the maintenance of Full Flight Simulators (FFS), lead a small team of Simulator Technicians, and ensure maximum simulator availability for pilot training.

Key Responsibilities
As Simulator Engineer – Shift Lead, you will:
* Lead the daily maintenance of up to four Full Flight Simulators at the Burgess Hill Training Centre.
* Provide leadership, mentoring, and training to junior Simulator Technicians.
* Diagnose and resolve technical issues quickly across simulator systems.
* Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance on simulators and associated systems.
* Work with hydraulic and electrical motion systems, visual display systems, and simulation software.
* Use the maintenance management system to log and track all engineering activities.
* Perform calibrations, visual alignments, tool inspections, soldering, and workshop repairs.
* Manage simulator logistics, including parts handling, repairs, testing and validation.
* Review and mark up Qualification Test Guide (QTG) results.
* Ensure compliance with health & safety standards, risk assessments, RAMS, COSHH, and LockOut TagOut procedures.
About You
* ~10+ years' experience as a
Simulator Engineer / Simulator Maintenance Technician
.
* Proven experience in a lead or cuff-style role, now looking to move into formal leadership.
* Strong understanding of fault-finding and corrective maintenance techniques.
* Hands-on experience with:
* Hydraulic and electrical motion/control loading systems
* Simulator visual systems
* Simulation software and hardware fault-finding/repair
* Customer-focused, proactive, and able to work under pressure in a shift environment.
Desirable (not essential):
* Experience with Airbus A320 or Boeing B737 simulators.
* Background working on CAE, FSI, Sim Industries, TRU or L3 training devices.
* HNC/HND in Aircraft Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, or related discipline.
