We are looking to appoint a Locum Consultant Dermatologist for 10 Programmed Activities for 12 months, fixed term. This is an exciting opportunity to join an ambitious dermatology team working in a recently built modern department aiming to give the highest quality of care to the population served by Walsall Health Care NHS Trust and The Royal Wolverhampton Hospitals NHS Trust.
The successful candidate will be expected to work cross site at Walsall Manor Hospital and New Cross Hospital.
Main duties of the job
* To assist the current team and have responsibility for ensuring a commitment to provide a high quality of Dermatology Services to patients by continual development of practice in the light of evidence-based, and clinical standards.
* To partake in Skin Cancer MDT.
* To provide advice to colleagues in other specialities on Dermatology care.
* To provide a comprehensive Outpatient service and surgery service.
* To provide clinical support and teaching to resident and speciality doctors, Medical Students and Postgraduate Medical Education.
* To support and encourage audit and research.
* To have responsibility for ensuring a commitment to maintaining a high quality of service to patients.
* To actively participate in CPD and personal development plans.
Qualifications
* Basic Medical Degree
* Full MRCP (or equivalent)
* Entry on the GMC Specialist Register via CCT (Proposed CCT date must be within 6 months or European Community Rights or CESR)
Clinical Effectiveness and Experience
* Experience of conducting clinical audit
* Ability to use the evidence base and clinical audit to support decision‑making
* Evidence of research experience and published work
* Evidence of Higher Specialist Training in Dermatology
* Ability to take full and independent responsibility for the clinical care of patients
* Ability to offer expert clinical advice on range of problems
* An understanding of the current NHS environment, particularly in relation to reforms, initiatives and issues
