We are working with a well-established and growing civil engineering SME based in West Lancashire, renowned for delivering high-quality work and maintaining an excellent reputation across the region. Due to continued growth, they are now looking to appoint a Project Quantity Surveyor to support and commercially manage a range of live civil engineering schemes. This role would suit an Assistant Quantity Surveyor ready to step up or an experienced Project Quantity Surveyor currently managing their own civil engineering projects.
The Role
You will take commercial responsibility for a portfolio of civil engineering projects, typically including:
General civil engineering works
Roads and highways
Footpaths and public realm works
Bridges and associated structures
Working closely with the commercial manager, project managers and site teams, you will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered profitably and in line with contract requirements, predominantly under NEC forms of contract.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial management of multiple civil engineering projects from start to final account
Preparing and submitting applications for payment
Managing variations, compensation events and change control under NEC
Cost control, forecasting and CVRs
Procurement and management of subcontractors
Valuations, payments and final accounts
Supporting project teams with commercial advice and risk management
Building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders
About You
Previous experience within civil engineering (essential)
Assistant QS looking to progress or an established Project Quantity Surveyor
Working knowledge of NEC forms of contract
Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
Confident communicator, able to liaise with clients and site teams
Full UK driving licence (essential)
