We have a vacancy for a Communications Officer (Grade 9) to deliver key communications and media projects. This is an opportunity for someone to join our team on a permanent contract, and pick up income generating marketing campaigns, such internal communications, recycling and waste prevention.

As a talented communications professional, you'll work alongside qualified journalists, marketers, graphic designers and digital specialists to deliver creative campaigns.

You'll need to have relevant qualifications or experience working in a busy team as the communications world moves at a very fast pace. With an eye for detail and demonstrable organisational skills, you'll be able to multi-task to meet deadlines while managing stakeholder expectations.

About You
To apply for this post, you must be able to:
1. Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate communications to deliver the aims you’ll agree with managers
2. Demonstrate you've got an eye for a story and a grasp of print, broadcast and digital media – and can create compelling, newsy content
3. Manage and promote the Leicestershire County Council brand, and provide excellent communications and marketing advice to colleagues across the organisation
4. Co-ordinate the delivery of internal and external communications campaigns working with our wider team, including graphic designers
5. Be creative and spot opportunities to generate income - and plan ahead
6. Understand social media inside and out
7. Work with media team colleagues to respond to reactive requests from the media, colleagues and partner organisations, in a timely and professional way
