Job overview
The Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust's (MFT) mission is…
“Working together to improve the health and quality of life of our diverse population by building an organisation that excels in quality, safety, patient experience, research, innovation and teaching, that MFT attracts, develops and retains great people and is recognised internationally as a leading healthcare provider”.
To achieve this, the Maternity Education and Workforce Department seeks an enthusiastic Maternity Education Project Support Administrator to provide administration and project support for effectively running maternity education and training at Saint Mary's Hospital Maternity Division (NMGH, ORC and Wythenshawe).
Main duties of the job
The project support administrator will be a key member of the maternity education team. The post holder will provide comprehensive administrative support, assisting the education teams to deliver business-as-usual workstreams and projects. This includes supporting the Consultant Lead for Education, Lead Midwife for Education and Practice Development, and ensuring that education and training for Midwives, Maternity Support Workers, Obstetricians, and Anaesthetists meet standards required by The Clinical Negligence Scheme for Trusts (Maternity Incentive Scheme), the CQC, and align with local priorities and reports such as The Ockenden report. The role involves quality assurance of training and requires a resourceful approach to managing complex responsibilities.
Working for our organisation
MFT is one of the largest NHS Trusts in England with a turnover of over £3bn. We serve approximately 1 million patients annually, bringing together 10 hospitals and community services across Manchester, Trafford, and beyond. We promote collaboration, innovation, and transformation, encouraging our 30,000 staff to achieve their goals. Our digital initiatives, such as the Hive Electronic Patient Record system launched in September 2022, aim to improve clinical quality, patient and staff experience, and operational efficiency.
We are a major academic research and education centre, supporting high-quality research programs. Our Green Plan emphasizes sustainability in healthcare. At MFT, we foster a culture of inclusion, provide equal career opportunities, and prioritize staff wellbeing and organizational growth.
