Brief
We are currently looking to recruit two Property Lawyers to join the Property Energy and Infrastructure subteam within our Development & Investment team, part of our UK National Property Group. These roles are based in Aberdeen, Belfast, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, or Manchester. We seek candidates with over 8 years’ PQE, admitted and qualified in England & Wales or Scotland, with experience in property aspects of energy and/or infrastructure projects.
About the Team
Our team is one of the largest groups of property lawyers in the UK dedicated to supporting the Energy & Infrastructure Sectors. We are known for our sector knowledge, commercial approach, and providing clear, relevant, and timely advice.
Our experience ranges from advising on offshore wind farms to EV charging station portfolios, ensuring clients receive the legal support they need when they need it.
Sector insight is central to our work. In energy, our clients include landowners, developers, funders, and investors involved in various energy technologies and projects. In infrastructure, our work includes major road and rail projects, such as those for Transport for London and Highways England.
Work Highlights
* Advising bp Aberdeen Hydrogen Limited on property aspects of their green hydrogen project, including a solar-powered production, storage, and distribution facility.
* Advising shareholders of the 576 MW Awel Y Môr Offshore Wind Farm project on agreements related to production, grid connection, and lease arrangements.
* Advising on property aspects of a major carbon capture, utilization, and storage project in the UK.
* Advising Tesco on lease arrangements for rooftop solar installations across their UK stores to achieve net zero by 2035.
* Advising Cory Environmental on property issues for the Riverside Energy Park, including waste energy recovery, battery storage, and solar generation.
* Advising Transport for London on property aspects of the £1bn Silvertown Tunnel project.
* Advising the Environment Agency on property issues related to the £500m River Thames Flood Defence Scheme.
The Candidate Required
The ideal candidates will be qualified in England & Wales or Scotland, with extensive experience in property work on energy and infrastructure projects within a large regional or national practice. They should have a strong academic background, an outgoing personality, and a proven track record in business development. Candidates must be technically excellent, commercially aware, and team players with a client-focused approach.
Joining our friendly and dynamic UK-wide team, you'll work on a broad range of energy and infrastructure property projects, including wind (onshore and offshore), solar, hydrogen, carbon capture, battery storage, and nuclear transactions, as well as road, rail, and port projects. Our clients include public authorities, developers, investors, funders, and utility companies. While based in our Development & Investment team, you'll have close links to our energy and infrastructure sectors, two of our Global Sectors.
