School Caretaker
Location: PontefractPay rate: Around £12.71 per hourHours: 37 hours per weekContract: Temporary until August
We are currently recruiting for a reliable and hands-on Caretaker to join a busy school in Pontefract. This is a key role in ensuring the school site remains safe, secure, and well maintained for pupils, staff, and visitors.
About the role:
* Working Hours: 37 hours per week
* Monday - Friday: Between hours of 6 AM and 5 PM.
* Around £12.71 Per hour
* Weekly pay
Key Responsibilities:
* Opening and closing the school site
* General maintenance and basic repairs
* Health & safety checks across the premises
* Setting up rooms for events and school activities
* Monitoring the security of the site and responding to emergencies
* Liaising with contractors where required
* Ensuring outdoor areas and buildings are kept safe and presentable
The Ideal Candidate Will:
* Have previous caretaking, maintenance, or site management experience (school experience desirable)
* Be practical, proactive, and reliable
* Understand health & safety requirements in a school environment
* Be flexible and happy to work split shifts
* Must have an Enhanced DBS check
