Over the last three years, CommsAudit has successfully developed a range of RF Monitoring and DirectionFinding systems and sub-systems and is well positioned to grow market share strategic projects both through prime contractors and direct to end customers.
To achieve sustainable growth and bolster market share, CommsAudit recognises the necessity to reinforce our commitment to creating and nurturing long-term customer relationships to be able to win high-quality and sustainable business with defence and national security clients worldwide, and to this end we are seeking to appoint a Business Development and Sales Director.
About the Role As Business Development and Sales Director, you'll be a key player in our senior management team, responsible for shaping the company's business growth and sales strategy. Your role will be pivotal in managing pipeline to capture existing opportunities, identify new opportunities and closing high-value sales to achieve the company's financial objectives.
Key Responsibilities
• Own the end-to-end sales and business development process, from identifying opportunities to negotiating and closing deals, liaising with prime contractors and sub-contractors to form winning teams when required.
• Build strong relationships with the engineering teams, and other internal stakeholders in managing customers and delivering proposals.
• Develop and maintain a sales forecast within a CRM tool to accurately represent current and future revenue streams.
• Lead wider business improvement projects as and when required. Knowledge, Skills & Experience
• Proven experience in a similar role within the defence sector, preferably with a focus on CEMA or other RF systems.
• Deep technical understanding of RF fundamentals in the context of the Electronic Warfare domain.
• Proven experience in achieving significant sales targets, ideally with an annual order intake of £10m+ and single orders of £5m+.
• Demonstrable ability to manage accounts and develop strong, customer relationships.
• Previous experience creating, developing, and submitting successful proposals and bids.
• Strong understanding of prime and sub-contractor processes and a solid network in the industry.
• Experience in identifying and capitalising on upselling opportunities within existing contracts.
