Salary: £35,412 – £39,152

We are seeking to recruit motivated practitioners with initiative and drive who are keen to contribute to the further development of our integrated Children’s Health service.
Due to recent changes in immigration law in the UK we are unable to offer skilled worker visa sponsorship for this role as it does not meet the requirements of RQF Level 6.
Main duties of the job
The Children’s Health Service 0‑19, alongside other agencies, support the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme across Lincolnshire for children, young people and their families (aged 0‑19 years) and up to the age of 25 years for young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). The CYPN team is small and close‑knit, working across Lincolnshire to ensure children, young people and families can access timely expert advice and intervention on specific health issues when needed. The team works with health-visiting teams in child health, children’s services (childrens centres, family help, social care and family hubs), and other agencies to improve outcomes and reduce health inequalities.
There is strong emphasis on delivering the public health message. The CYPN team supports children with long‑term health needs and/or medical needs affecting attendance in education, working with external partner agencies such as GPs, schools and other health agencies to support children to meet their full potential. They provide information and awareness sessions to schools on anaphylaxis, asthma and diabetes, and also work with public health on identified public health topics such as World Asthma Day and sun safety.
The role is fully‑time (37 hours) with the base in Boston and South Holland area. County‑wide coverage may be required.
Job responsibilities
As a CYPN, you will:
* Provide nursing care in line with professional and statutory standards
* Deliver health promotion messages virtually and face‑to‑face
* Support learning environments, including supporting students
* Collaborate with the Children’s Health team, family help and social care colleagues to improve outcomes for children and young people
* Ensure children, young people and their families receive timely expert advice and intervention
Qualifications and Experience
* Registered paediatric nurse (or a registered adult/mental health nurse with current paediatric experience) with a current NMC registration
* A flexible can‑do attitude
* Ability to work as both an individual and a team player
* Willingness to travel across the county as needed
* Excellent organisational and communication skills
* Good understanding of children's safeguarding
* Good understanding of clinical governance and CQC standards for community practice
* Ability to work in a changing environment and support others in that situation
* Committed to working collaboratively and in partnership with the rest of the Children’s Health team, family help and social care colleagues
