Vision-Specialist Inclusion Practitioner
Salary: £28,598 - £31,022. Full-time and part-time posts available (5-day full-time, 34 hours per week; two part-time posts share 34 hours). Permanent. Location: Hearing and Vision Specialist Service, Enterprise House, Stockport SK3 0XT. Start date: September 2026.
Your Role
Work with children and young people who have vision impairment in educational settings, providing 1-to-1 inclusive support as part of the Hearing and Vision Specialist Service. You will work under the guidance of the Head of Service/Team Leader and Qualified Specialist Teachers of Vision Impairment in a supportive and friendly team. The role involves paid Wednesday staff meetings (until 5pm) and is term-time only.
About You
Applicants with no previous experience of vision impairment are welcome. You must demonstrate a keen aspiration to work with children and young people who have vision impairment and should have some basic background knowledge. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Professional development, guidance and training will be provided to develop specialist competencies if necessary.
Key Requirements
You must be willing to obtain an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check and other pre-employment clearances.
