A complex, multi-site charity, is seeking an experienced Interim Chief Financial Officer to provide strategic financial leadership during a critical period of change.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive and working closely with the Board, the Interim CFO will take ownership of financial strategy, planning and governance, with a clear mandate to strengthen financial sustainability, improve controls and drive value across the organisation.
This is a high-impact interim assignment requiring a confident, hands-on finance leader who is comfortable operating in a challenging stakeholder environment and able to provide clarity, pace and assurance from day one.
Key responsibilities will include:
Leading the organisation’s financial strategy, medium-term planning and delivery of a robust financial action plan
Oversight of budgeting, forecasting, cashflow and financial governance across a multi-entity structure
Preparation for year-end and audit, ensuring strong control and compliance
Reviewing and improving procurement approaches to deliver efficiencies and value for money
Identifying opportunities for income growth and improved commercial performance
Acting as a senior advisor to the CEO and Board, presenting clear, evidence-based recommendations
Supporting and developing the existing finance leadership team, strengthening commercial insight and business partnering capabilityCandidate profile:
Proven experience operating at CFO / Finance Director level in complex, multi-site organisations
Strong background in financial recovery, transformation or stabilisation environments
Commercially astute, with experience of procurement improvement and cost optimisation
Confident communicator with the credibility to influence senior non-finance stakeholders
Comfortable stepping into an interim role with limited handover and providing a fresh perspective
Sector background is flexible; experience in regulated, public sector or not-for-profit may be beneficial but is not essentialContract details:
