Job Title: Site Facilities Lead
Department: Applied Automation – Whole

Hours of Work: Monday – Thursday 07:00 – 16.30 *36hr week
Main Purpose of Role
We are looking for a hands-on site facilities lead to oversee the day-to-day upkeep, maintenance, and smooth running of our industrial manufacturing site in Plymouth. The role will ensure buildings, site infrastructure, and equipment are maintained to a high standard, creating a safe, reliable, and efficient working environment. Working closely with the Health & Safety Manager, this role supports compliance but is primarily centred around facilities upkeep and contractor management.
Role & Responsibilities:

* Carry out and oversee the maintenance, repair, and servicing of site infrastructure, including:
* Industrial equipment (Production and non-production critical)
* Office blocks, canteens, washrooms, and communal areas
* Plan and deliver preventative maintenance schedules to minimise downtime and disruption.
* Coordinate and supervise external contractors for services such as:
* Pest control
* PAT testing
* Grounds maintenance
* Waste management and recycling
* Other facilities-related contracts as required
* Ensure facilities and equipment issues are resolved quickly and effectively.
* Monitor the condition of buildings and site services, raising recommendations for improvements.
* Support the Health & Safety Manager by ensuring facilities meet compliance needs (e.g. accessibility, fire systems, emergency equipment).
* Manage maintenance budgets and provide input on cost-effective solutions.
* Be the main point of contact for facilities-related queries across the site.
Requirements
* Practical facilities management or site maintenance experience, ideally within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
* Strong organisational skills with a proactive, problem-solving approach.
* Experience coordinating and managing external contractors.
* Basic understanding of health & safety requirements, with the ability to support compliance activities led by the H&S Manager.
* Good communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively across teams and with suppliers.
Desirable
* Trade background (electrical, mechanical, or building maintenance) would be an asset.
* IOSH Managing Safely or similar (desirable but not essential).
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £30,000.00-£34,000.00 per year
