The main purpose of the role is to design, implement and maintain data models and transformations of Tandem's data, whilst ensuring data quality, performance, and scalability across Tandem's data infrastructure.

The data team you'll be working with are a small group of hard-working and enthusiastic analysts, report developers, and data modellers. You'll have the opportunity to influence data architecture design, collaborate with the team to build a modern Data Warehouse stack, and have regular knowledge-sharing and learning opportunities.
You'll also be collaborating with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and optimise data structures, providing accurate and efficient insights into Tandem's data.
Your Impact: Building a greener tomorrow
As a Data Modeller at Tandem your focus will be on:
1. Design and implement dimensional and relational data models for business intelligence and analytics use cases
2. Create and maintain data documentation, including entity-relationship diagrams and data dictionaries
3. Develop and implement data quality controls and validation procedures
4. Support the optimisation of data pipelines for data transformation processes
5. Participate in code reviews and maintain modelling best practices

6. Data Modelling
7. Investigates enterprise data requirements where there is someplexity and ambiguity.
8. Plans data modelling and design activities, selecting appropriate techniques and levels of detail to meet objectives.
9. Provides advice and guidance to others using the data structures and associatedponents. Data Engineering (DENG 3)
10. Database design
11. Interprets installation standards to meet project needs and produces database or data warehouseponent specifications.
12. Develops physical database or data warehouse design elements, within set policies, to meet data requirements.
13. Data management
14. Implements standard data management practices based on detailed organisational requirements.
15. Monitors and maintains data quality through regular reviews and validation checks.
16. Business intelligence
17. Supports business intelligence needs of specific management orernance processes or operational areas.
18. Investigates the need for business intelligence reporting and analysis where there is someplexity and ambiguity.
19. Selects and applies non-standard business intelligence tools and techniques to provide insights and aid decision-making. Selects, acquires and integrates data for analysis and verifies the data's quality and integrity.
20. Identifies opportunities to digitise and streamline operational data handling and optimise business intelligence capabilities.
And experience of the following:

22. Proficient with GitHub for version control and collaboration
23. DBT:
24. Experience with DBT for data transformation and modelling

28. Timescale db
29. PostgreSQL
30. Experience with Microsoft SQL Server
31. Power BI:
32. Proficiency in Power BI for semantic modelling and reporting
It would be great, but not essential if you have :
33. ETL/ELT processes
34. Data quality and validation methodologies
35. Task management in JIRA
36. Documentation in Confluence and Miro
37. Familiarity with JetBrains IDEs, particularly DataSpell
