Cyber Security Ops Specialist
Location: Reading – Theale, GB. Hybrid (4 days client site, 1 remote). 37.5 hours per week.
Security Clearance: DV level required. Eligible for an allowance of £5,000 per annum while holding clearance.
Responsibilities
* Respond to immediate complex security threats as part of the Cyber Security Monitoring and Response team.
* Work in a SOC environment, triage alerts and incidents, and perform initial incident response.
* Create and continuously improve procedures, policies and processes.
* Detect, analyse, and respond to cybersecurity incidents using cutting‑edge technology and robust processes.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Threat hunting
* Customer relationship management
* Cyber threat intelligence
* Incident response
* Decision making
* DV (Developed Vetting) clearance; must have lived in the UK for 10+ years.
Desirable Skills & Experience
* Experience in a fast‑paced operational security environment.
* Knowledge of security management, network and information security, people security and running of one or more services within a SOC.
* 1+ year experience working within an IT/IP network‑based environment.
* Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, CSA+, CEH or equivalent.
* Experience in a customer‑facing environment.
* Experience with toolsets: Elastic/Kibana, Darktrace, Microsoft Sentinel/Defender.
