Cloud Platform Engineer (GCP) Location: Glasgow, Scotland 5 days onsite Contract Type: 12 - months contract Daily Rate: ££292.56 Paye/ £388.20 umbrella per day Holiday Entitlement: 33 days The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Cloud Platform Engineer to join a high-performing Software Engineering team. This role offers the opportunity to design, build, test, and deploy scalable cloud application solutions that seamlessly integrate cloud and on-premise infrastructure. You will play a key role in shaping cloud architecture decisions, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and delivering innovative solutions that enhance operational efficiency and system performance. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, test, and deploy secure and scalable cloud-based solutions. Provision and manage cloud infrastructure and platform environments. Develop proof-of-architecture solutions to validate security, scalability, and performance. Act as a subject matter expert, supporting technical decision-making and best practices. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of cloud services. Conduct regular reviews of cloud architecture to identify optimisation opportunities. Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers. Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and industry trends to drive continuous improvement. Required Skills & Experience Advanced proficiency in Google App Engine (GAE). Strong expertise in Cloud Infrastructure and Cloud Platform Architecture. Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Storage. Working knowledge of Terraform (Infrastructure as Code). Proven ability to work across multiple teams and contribute to key architectural decisions.
