Overview
Airbus Commercial Aircraft is currently looking for a Senior Composite Material Engineer to support A220 production at Belfast. The selected candidate will join the Materials & Process (M&P) team as part of the Engineering organization.
Responsibilities
* Manage composite material activities in a production environment.
* Support production issues for composite technologies.
* Lead and support product improvement for cost or quality aspects of composite parts.
* Coordinate activities with Plant Engineering and the Materials & Process community.
* Responsible for material selection and support to design, manufacturing engineering, supply chain and quality for any material related queries, concessions, etc.
* Build and maintain a powerful stakeholder network with internal interfaces such as design offices, procurement, supply chain quality.
* Participate in future aircraft development programs and industrialization improvement projects.
Qualifications
* Engineer or science degree with experience in composite materials and processes, with knowledge of assembly and surface‑related materials and technologies relevant to development and design solutions, materials qualifications, M&P processes, testing and failure analysis.
* Minimum five to eight years of proven experience in composites materials and processes, including component assembly and surface treatment technologies.
* Experience in supporting technically new material supplier qualifications and developments.
* Ability to technically lead projects in an international and interdisciplinary environment across different levels of hierarchy.
* Demonstrated networking skills and technical leadership in collaboration with external partners, with a problem‑solving approach.
