We need somebody to be a Teaching Support Assistant during our sessions and rehearsals, and offer support to the team and our service users in a group and one-to-one setting. Could you be somebody who could be sympathetic and understanding towards adults with Autism and disabilities?
What difference will you make?
Your vital role on our team will ensure the successful delivery of our services and sessions, and make a valuable contribution towards us fulfilling our mission and making a positive difference to our service users. The duties of the support assistants ensure our team can conduct their role and teaching to the best of their ability and that all our service users receive the effective support they need.
What are we looking for?
We ideally need somebody with some interest in disability and/or teaching or working with young people. We can provide training and awareness of Autism and the characteristics of our service users. Some knowledge of performing would also be useful but not essential. Ideally, we would like to recruit somebody with three years' prior experience or more. We would also expect all our teaching support assistants to share our vision and "work together to support each other".
What will you be doing?
Since its establishment The Group the Musical has been a successful and friendly theatre and community organisation that educates adults with disabilities in performing arts, and raises awareness of disability and Autism.
We need people to be teaching assistants to take on support roles in our rehearsals. This role is ideally for anybody with ambition for a drama directing or teaching role or in classroom support.
Under the direction of the core team the support assistants would take on a variety of specialist and more general class duties to aid the smooth, high quality and effective running of the sessions thereby ensuring the best use of the expertise of the core team, and also ensuring a safe and happy environment in which our service users can learn, participate and thrive.
