Network Manager
Role Responsibility
An opportunity has arisen within the Traffic Management Team for a motivated individual eager to demonstrate their experience in project, traffic, and performance management.
The role involves supporting the council's Network Management Duty by managing a team to identify and analyze strategic congestion issues on Kent's road network. The successful candidate will collaborate with the Traffic Management Team and various stakeholders (e.g., National Highways) to develop mitigations that maximize highway network performance and improve journey time reliability for all users, including public transport and Active Travel (walking and cycling).
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as the role requires liaising with internal and external stakeholders such as customers, Highway teams, public transport operators, trade associations, County, District and Parish Councillors, National Highways, and the Department for Transport.
This position is considered customer-facing by KCC. Therefore, the council has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure candidates have sufficient spoken English/Welsh to perform the role effectively, as outlined in the Job Description/Person Specification.
