Sign Fitters Mate - Hull - 24-25k
We are seeking a reliable and hands-on Fitter's Mate to assist a Sign Fitter in delivering and installing various signage across vehicles and public sites. This role offers a great opportunity for those looking to gain experience in the signage or construction industry, working on-site with a skilled and supportive team.
With over 30 years of experience in the signage industry, this company specializes in illuminated logo signs, bold lettering, building wraps, and interior signage like office graphics. If you're interested in being part of this dynamic team, look no further!
Key Responsibilities
1. Installation Support
2. Assist with loading, unloading, and transporting signage and materials.
3. Support the Sign Installation Engineer during on-site installation, including handing tools and preparing fixings.
4. Perform basic tasks such as measuring, marking out, and fixing under guidance.
Site Preparation & Clean-Up
1. Help set up work areas, including safety signage and access equipment.
2. Maintain cleanliness and order during and after installation.
3. Securely pack away tools and equipment after each job.
Health & Safety Compliance
1. Follow all health and safety procedures, including PPE use.
2. Assist in manual handling of large or awkward items safely.
3. Report hazards or incidents to the installation engineer or manager.
Teamwork & Conduct
1. Maintain a positive, proactive attitude on site.
2. Communicate clearly with team members and clients as needed.
3. Represent the company professionally at all times.
Skills & Experience
1. Previous site or construction experience is preferred, but full training will be provided.
2. Comfortable with physical work and manual handling.
3. Willing to learn new skills and follow instructions carefully.
4. CSCS card is preferred or willingness to obtain one.
5. Full UK driving license is desirable but not essential.
