Electrical and Automation Engineer\n\nRole reports to: Design & Engineering Manager\n\nHours: 8.30am – 5.00pm Monday – Thursday, 8.30am – 4.30pm Friday\n\nLocation: Southampton\n\nSalary: £35,000 per annum\n\nHoliday: 25 days + 8 bank holidays\n\nTS Group is a growing group of businesses with a strong presence in the UK and the GCC. As we continue to expand, we’re looking for motivated people to join us and help support our success across all areas of the business.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nSystem Design and Development\n\nDesigning control systems based on specific requirements, including hardware selection, software development (Industrial PLC programming), and integration of different components.\nSoftware Development\n\nWriting, testing, and debugging control software, typically in ladder logic\nHardware Integration\n\nEnsuring proper integration of sensors, actuators, and other hardware components with the control system\nTroubleshooting and Maintenance\n\nDiagnosing and resolving issues within the control system, both hardware and software related, to ensure smooth and reliable operation\nSafety Compliance\n\nEnsuring all designs and implementations adhere to safety regulations and standards\nSkills and Qualifications\n\nControl system design\n\nProduce electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, cable schedules etc.\nAble to Read design specifications, functional design specifications and technical documentation\nKnowledge of British (BS) and European (EN) standards such as Identifying / interpreting customer requirements\nKnowledge of BS EN ISO (phone number removed) (Safety of machinery —Safety-related parts of control systems) and BS EN ISO (phone number removed) (Safety of machinery — Electrical equipment of machines)\nPanel layout\n\nAble to design panel layouts for a range of systems, from simple panels to complete integrated systems\nProficiency in industrial programming\n\nExperience with various PLC platforms and a good understanding of Ladder logic programming is essential\nExperience with HMI configuration/software\nKnowledge of configuring AC & DC Variable Speed Drives / Inverters\nUnderstanding of IO-Link & ASI communication protocols\nProficiency in testing\n\nAbility to design and conduct testing on control panels / complete systems\nHardware knowledge\n\nFamiliarity with sensors, actuators, and other industrial hardware components.\nDesign software\n\nExperience in using Autodesk products; Inventor, AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical
