GXO is currently seeking a knowledgeable and motivated
Transport First Line Manager
to join the BT contract at our
Northallerton
site .
You will experience a blend of first line operational tasks and hands-on project involvement.
The role is being offered on a full-time, permanent basis. You will work
Monday-Friday, rotating between 6am-2pm & 2pm-10pm,
although some flexibility may be required during peak times
this is logistics after all!

What youll do on a typical day:
Ensure a safe working environment and to operate in accordance with company Health & Safety policies. This includes Road to Zero,
Ensure all GXO / DVSA compliance measures are prioritised and maintained. These include Tachomaster, Trailer Master, Tachograph analysis, infringement reporting and investigations
Ensure adequate accident investigations are carried out in a timely manner and recorded with appropriate support from the QHSE team and to take corrective action as appropriate with support from HR team
Day to day team management of all GXO and agency staff within the distribution operation across different shifts and sites as operationally required
What you need to succeed at GXO:
Proven experience in a leadership role within the transportation industry
Good knowledge of Health & Safety principles
Knowledge and understanding of vehicle compliance requirements and the importance of correct management, including the safe vehicle loading / unloading process
Strong knowledge of transportation operations, safety regulations, and legal compliance
Problem-solving skills and the ability to manage challenge
