Job Title: Electro/Mechanical Fitter
Term: Permanent, Full-Time
Working Hours:
* Monday–Thursday: 08:30–17:15
* Friday: 08:00–12:30
* Total: 37.5 hours per week
Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Electro/Mechanical Fitter to join our engineering team. This role involves the mechanical and electrical assembly of high-precision measurement machines, jigs, and fixtures. You will work closely with a team of experienced engineers, fitters, and wiremen to build complete systems from component level to finished product.
Key Responsibilities
* Assemble mechanical and electrical components for precision measurement machines.
* Perform bench fitting and mechanical assembly tasks.
* Make minor adjustments to components using lathes, milling machines, and surface grinders.
* Verify geometric tolerances using first principle measurement tools (e.g., DTI’s, gauge blocks).
* Assemble pneumatic systems and interpret pneumatic schematics.
* Conduct fault finding across electrical and mechanical systems.
* Read and work from detailed engineering drawings and general assembly schematics.
* Carry out electrical panel wiring and interpret electrical/electronic diagrams.
* Support calibration and fault finding on DC control systems.
* Apply knowledge of stepper motors, control systems, sensors, and BUS systems.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Minimum Level 3 Engineering qualification or time-served equivalent.
* HNC qualification desirable.
* Proven experience in mechanical/electrical fitting within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
