Job overview
We are currently seeking a skilled Production Planner to join the Sunswap team. The Production Planner will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling the production workflow to meet TRU manufacturing orders. You will act as the crucial link between our Supply Chain and Production teams to ensure that production is aligned with the build schedule by coordinating material availability, prioritising key parts, and facilitating communication across departments. The ideal candidate will posses strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate with various stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
* Develop and maintain comprehensive production schedules to meet manufacturing orders and project deadlines efficiently.
* Collaborate closely with engineering, procurement, inventory and operations teams to monitor stock levels, identify shortages, escalate critical material gaps and collect all relevant data and information for production planning.
* Analyse production requirements, capacity constraints, and material availability to develop feasible production plans.
* Serve as the central point of contact between Programme, Supply Chain, Production, and other stakeholders to ensure clear and timely updates on material constraints, delays, and resolutions that may impact production timelines.
* Translate sales forecasts into actionable supply and production plans, ensuring alignment with demand fluctuations and capacity constraints.
* Monitor production progress, identify potential bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to maintain schedule adherence.
* Communicate production schedules, priorities, and updates to relevant stakeholders, including engineering, production, supply chain and management teams.
* Work closely with procurement to ensure timely availability of materials and components required for production, and manage supply priorities.
* Continuously evaluate and optimise production planning processes and tools to improve efficiency, visibility, reduce lead times, and minimize waste.
* Maintain accurate production records and documentation, including production schedules, inventory levels, and performance metrics.
* Translate sales forecasts into actionable supply and production plans, ensuring alignment with demand fluctuations and capacity constraints.
Qualifications & experience
* Bachelor's degree in engineering, industrial engineering, operations management, or a related field.
* Proven experience in production planning, demand planning, supply chain coordination in a manufacturing environment.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse complex data, implement innovative solutions and make informed decisions.
* Meticulous attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
* Proficiency in production planning software or ERP/MRP systems is highly desirable.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
* Commitment to continuous improvement and driving operational excellence in production planning and scheduling.
