We are working with a vibrant and inclusive primary school in Camden seeking an outstanding Assistant Headteacher to join their senior leadership team on a temporary basis, with the potential to secure a permanent role from January 2026.
The Role - Primary Assistant Headteacher
As Assistant Headteacher, you will play a key role in driving whole-school improvement and supporting both staff and pupils. Your responsibilities will include:
* Overseeing and managing the school timetable for maximum efficiency
* Mentoring and coaching trainee teachers, supporting their professional growth
* Delivering inspiring assemblies and promoting a positive school culture
* Supporting and modelling best practice in managing challenging behaviour
* Leading on SEND provision, ensuring every child receives the support they need
The Ideal Candidate - Primary Assistant Headteacher
We are looking for an experienced and motivated leader who can demonstrate:
* Strong experience with school timetabling and operational planning
* A proven record of mentoring and coaching teachers, especially trainees and ECTs
* Confidence in leading assemblies and engaging the whole school community
* Excellent behaviour management skills and the ability to support colleagues
* In-depth understanding of a range of SEND needs and inclusive teaching practices
* Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
* A commitment to high standards and continuous improvement
