Job Title: Geotechnical Engineer
Location: Burton-on-Trent
Salary: £30,000+ (DOE)
Hours Of Work: 9am - 5pm (Monday - Friday)
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage site investigations, including supervision, costing, and subcontractor coordination
Deliver geotechnical designs (slope stability, settlement, retaining structures, reinforced earth, earthworks)
Produce interpretative reports and support project planning, coordination, and contractor engagement
Mentor junior engineers while contributing technical expertise and team development
Liaise with clients and manage health & safety documentation and compliance on projects
Key Skills:
Degree in Earth Sciences with 4+ years’ experience, including strong geotechnical design skills
Confident in site-based work year-round and knowledgeable in UK regulations and British Standards
Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities
Proficient or familiar with software like Holebase, CAD, QGIS, Slide, or Geo5 (training available)
Full UK driving licence required, with CSCS, First Aid & Asbestos Awareness (or willingness to train); Chartership in progress preferred
