The Head of Account Sales is a senior leadership role responsible for maximising revenue and market share within a defined category of key customers, while simultaneously leading and taking full commercial charge of branch sales across the UK. The primary goal is to drive holistic business growth by developing both national and local sales strategies, setting aggressive targets, and directly leading, motivating, and managing the field Account Managers and the UK branch sales network.
Key Responsibilities:
- UK Branch Sales Leadership: Take full ownership of branch sales across the UK, developing and executing strategies to drive local market share, increase branch footfall, and consistently grow revenue across all physical locations.
- Sales Strategy & Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies specific to the assigned field territories and the UK branch network. Identify new market opportunities, conduct market research, and stay informed about competitor activity to maintain a competitive edge.
- Pipeline & Revenue Management: Directly own and manage the overarching sales pipeline for both the account management team and the UK branches, accurately forecasting revenue and Gross Profit (GP) growth.
- Team Management & Motivation: Lead, motivate, train, and manage the sales accounts team and branch sales employees to achieve individual and collective targets. This is a hands‑on people management role that includes recruitment, performance management, and creating development plans across the network.
- Target Setting & Reporting: Set clear sales profit and revenue targets for the team, including customer lifecycle spend and individual branch performance. Monitor performance daily and weekly and report on sales results and progress against goals to the Sales Director.
- Client and Market Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and actively lead efforts to acquire new customers within the territory and through the branches, feeding into the pipeline. Ensure the customer journey consistently meets Customer Service SLAs.
- Operational Execution: Ensure both the field sales area and the physical branches operate efficiently and profitably. This involves managing the area and branch budgets, ensuring compliance with company policies.
