Children’s Home Manager

We are looking for a registered manager in Haunton, (Staffordshire) for a 2-bedded children’s home that looks after young people with learning disabilities and physical disabilities. The salary is £57,000 - £62,000 and there is also a bonus scheme.

Chapel House is ideally situated in the charming village of Haunton, nestled within the picturesque Mease Valley. Chapel House is a beautiful, purpose-built 2-bedded home that provides exceptional care and support to young people with learning disabilities and physical disabilities. Located in the tranquil village of Haunton, Chapel House offers a peaceful, nurturing environment designed to promote independence and well-being, all within the stunning natural surroundings of the Mease Valley.

The property itself is a spacious, detached residence, surrounded by expansive greenery and ample outdoor space. The large entrance hall provides a welcoming first impression, leading to a thoughtfully designed interior that caters to both comfort and functionality. The lounge is a beautiful space, featuring a dual-sided wood burner that also faces the large dining room, creating a cosy, homely atmosphere. The open-plan kitchen is well-equipped and adjoined to a large annexe, offering even more space. In addition, the property includes a therapy / sensory room.

About Bayleaf Care

Bayleaf Care provides exceptional care for children and young people across the UK, especially those who have faced trauma. We use the PACE model, which creates a safe, caring environment to help children feel secure and build positive relationships.

Our approach starts with the key worker, who forms a strong, trusting bond with the child. This relationship is essential for the child’s development and continues throughout their care.

We offer personalized care, education, and treatment led by a team of trained professionals, helping children manage their emotions and behaviours in a safe, supportive environment.

There are currently 4 children’s homes open, with another 2 homes due to open by the end of 2025.

Each children’s home has their own permanent on-site therapist and a pool car.

Job overview

The Registered Manager will lead and manage the home ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and support to the children and young people. You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the home, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and leading a team of staff to provide a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment.

The Registered Manager ensures that care plans are tailored to meet the individual needs of each child, promotes their well-being and development, and fosters positive relationships with families, professionals, and external agencies. They are also accountable for managing safeguarding procedures, staff training, and promoting a culture of respect, safety, and empowerment within the home.

The registered manager will be supported by an operations team who have over 60 years combined experience in children’s residential care.


Responsibilities

* Lead and manage the home to deliver high-quality care and support for children and young people.
* Oversee day-to-day operations, governance, and regulatory compliance.
* Develop and monitor individual care plans tailored to each child’s needs.
* Promote well-being, development, and positive relationships with families and external professionals.
* Manage safeguarding procedures and oversee staff training and supervision.
* Foster a culture of respect, safety, and empowerment within the home.


Qualifications

* Experience: being a deputy manager of a children's home: 2 years (required)
* Licence/Certification: driving licence and access to a car (required)
