I am a man in my 80s and I live in Glencaple. I have been diagnosed with mixed dementia so can often be confused and need someone who is patient. I like to spend my day reading my newspapers and watching TV (murder mysteries are my favourite). I have a big garden that I use to be able to care for so enjoy talking about that.
I am looking for a personal assistant to come for 2 hours in the morning at about 9 am but willing to be flexible with this. I need someone to supervise me getting dress and put my socks and cream on. The role also includes meal preparation so this would be making breakfast (omelette is my favourite) and putting something in the fridge for my lunch. Light housework like cleaning dishes and laundry is also needed. I need prompting to take my pills and to do my exercises so I can stay mobile at the moment I use a mobility aid around the house
The role also includes coming for an hour at dinner time. This would be to cook my dinner and help to prepare for bed like closing curtains and turning on my lamps.
This job is 15 hours Monday to Friday with the possibility of one weekend a month when needed.
Applicant would need to be local to Glencaple or have a driving license due to location. The rate of pay would be £16.25 per hour with paid annual leave of 5.6 weeks pro rata. A suitable PVG is required.
