Network Infrastructure Technical Engineer
Responsibilities:
1. Support the Network Infrastructure Manager in delivering IT support and network services according to the Service Level Agreement, aiming to provide an efficient and technically capable service.
2. Investigate complex IT issues (incidents) escalated from the Service Desk and support resources, leading the investigation, resolution, and documentation of root causes, including severity level 1 incidents such as system or departmental outages and performance issues.
3. Participate in research and development of IT infrastructure to identify beneficial future technologies and plan their implementation.
4. Develop processes and procedures to maintain the IT infrastructure proactively and to high standards for D&G and its customers.
5. Ensure the infrastructure team's resolution targets are met and update calls accordingly in the service desk management platform.
6. Participate in the ICT out-of-hours on-call rota.
7. Organize daily infrastructure tasks and perform standard checks on infrastructure operability, interfaces, space, backups, and remedial actions.
8. Assist in developing and reviewing the IT Disaster Recovery Plans to ensure network infrastructure recovery in case of disaster, contributing to Trust-wide Business Continuity Planning.
9. Act as the lead specialist for one or more network infrastructure technologies and share knowledge with the wider ICT team.
