Emergency Nurse Practitioner
Band 7 | 36 hours | Permanent contract
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Urgent Treatment Centre at Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust as an Emergency Nurse Practitioner.
The service operates between 07:30 and 00:00, 7 days a week.
We have recently completed a £20m refurbishment of our Emergency Care Village, making it an exciting time to join the Urgent Care Team and influence the emergency care our patients receive as well as the environment in which our staff work.
The successful candidate will have significant Emergency Nurse Practitioner experience, demonstrate excellent communication skills, and lead by example. Responsibilities include managing, prioritising, and delivering high-quality care to patients.
You will provide senior leadership and management, escalate concerns appropriately to the ED/UTC Matron, manage staff including reviewing appraisals, supporting health and wellbeing, and overseeing day-to-day staffing with the support of the multidisciplinary ED management team.
You will lead and supervise others, managing the emergency care setting effectively.
We value both our patients and staff — Everyone Matters. You will be supported in developing the workforce to deliver exceptional care and will practice within your own competence and agreed scope of practice, regularly reviewed and signed off by the Matron and Specialty Lead Consultant.
Your duties include assessing patients, ordering and interpreting investigations, diagnosing, and treating patients independently in the Emergency Nurse Practitioner role.
You will be responsible for care needs assessment, developing, implementing, and evaluating care programs without supervision, and teaching other staff in adult and children’s minor injuries and ailments.
If necessary, you will take charge of the clinical area and demonstrate efficient management to junior nurses.
Working autonomously within a multidisciplinary team, you will manage a caseload of patients, ensuring effective communication with patients, carers, and professionals for seamless service delivery.
