We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Secondary Teacher to join a specialist school in Peterborough catering to students with severe learning disabilities (SLD) and ASD. The role involves assessing and delivering early English and Maths provision to help students achieve their potential. For the right candidate, this fixed-term position could lead to a permanent role.
Responsibilities:
1. Plan and deliver creative and individualised lessons focused on early English and Maths development for students with SLD and ASD.
2. Assess students’ abilities and create tailored learning plans to support their educational progress.
3. Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment, addressing students’ unique learning needs.
4. Utilise a variety of teaching strategies and resources to engage and inspire learners.
5. Monitor, assess, and record pupil progress, providing regular feedback to parents and staff.
6. Support students’ social, emotional, and personal development alongside their academic progress.
7. Collaborate with support staff and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic support for each student.
Requirements:
8. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
9. Experience working with students with severe learning disabilities, ASD, or similar needs.
10. Strong understanding of early English and Maths provision, with the ability to assess and deliver tailored lessons.
11. Exceptional patience, empathy, and resilience when working with students with complex needs.
12. Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues and parents.
13. A passion for inclusive education and the ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their best.
