About the Role
As a Secondary ECT, you will take an active role in delivering engaging lessons, fostering academic achievement, and creating a safe and inclusive learning atmosphere. This role offers a structured yet flexible path into the profession, providing hands-on teaching experience with mentorship and support tailored to your development.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver high-quality and engaging lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
* Plan and adapt teaching to meet the diverse needs of all learners.
* Monitor student progress, assess learning outcomes, and maintain accurate records.
* Create a classroom culture based on mutual respect, inclusion, and high expectations.
* Work collaboratively with senior staff, mentors, and fellow teachers to develop your professional practice.
* Participate in wider school life and contribute to the academic and pastoral development of pupils.
Requirements for the Secondary ECT role:
* A recognised UK teaching qualification with QTS or ECT.
* Recent teaching placement or classroom-based experience, ideally within secondary education.
* Strong subject knowledge and confidence in managing a classroom.
* Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development.
* A proactive attitude, resilience, and a passion for inspiring young learners.
* Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
