Funded by The Nuclear Industry Benevolent Fund

Lancaster and Morecambe College is seeking a passionate and committed Project Worker to support vulnerable young people aged 1425 in making positive transitions into adulthood. Funded by the Nuclear Industry Benevolent Fund, this exciting new role focuses on engaging young people who are not currently in education, employment, or training (NEET). You will work directly with individuals to deliver tailored interventions that empower them to reengage with learning and access meaningful employment.

The nuclear industry has played a major role in our local economy since the construction of Heysham 1 began in 1970. However, many young people remain unaware of the wide range of career opportunities available within the sector, both locally and nationally. With increasing numbers of young people in the Lancaster district classed as NEET or at risk of becoming NEET, this project provides a vital platform to raise aspirations and awareness of training and career pathways in the industry.

You should have a Level 3 qualification in Youth Work, or another relevant qualification and hold GCSEs (or equivalent Level 2) in Maths and English.

Benefits include:

* Membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme (employer contribution 17.2%)
* Generous leave entitlement (28 days, plus Bank Holidays and College Closure Days)
* Cycle to Work scheme
* Opportunities for continuing professional development
* Good staff support services

Lancaster and Morecambe College are a thriving FE College and justifiably proud of the strong links with our local community. Located between Lancaster and Morecambe, we are proud to be our community’s provider of technical, professional and creative education.
