Waste Operative Loader: Waste Services is looking for a Waste operative Loader.
You will be required to work as part of a collection teams, collecting recycling boxes, bins and sorting recyclable materials. Initially working within the box recycling team but after completing probation you may be asked to support other collection teams within waste services.
The role will be physically demanding and most collection work would be outdoors in all weather conditions. There are no set qualifications to enter this job, previous experience in waste industry is desirable, yet full training will be provided for the right candidate. It can also be helpful to have some experience with physical fitness, health and safety and recycling skills.
Duties will include but not limited to:
• Collecting recycling scheme boxes and materials
• Sort recyclables and check the right kind of materials have been put out
• Inspect materials for any contaminations and issue rejection tickets
• Speak to members of the public about recycling schemes and give information
• Ensure the correct protective equipment is correctly worn at all times
• Ensure work is carried out to the highest standards of health and safety
• You will be required to undertake all aspects of a loader in respect of the recycling collection round collection duties from households throughout North Lincolnshire.
• Periodically and by prior notice, you will be required to attend training and engagement days on your non-working weekday.
• You will be required to work the occasional Saturday to provide collections in lieu of a bank holiday.

The service we provide operates a 4-day shift system, so you will work Tuesday to Friday. 4 days per week, 37 hours per week with 1 hour banked to cover any training requirements.
