Overview
We are recruiting for a substantive Consultant Psychiatrist on our Avondale Assessment Unit at Miranda House in Hull. Avondale is a 14 bedded in-patient facility, based in inner city Hull and offers assessment for people with a variety of mental health needs across Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire.
The post holder will join an established team of Specialist Consultant Psychiatrists in Working Age Adults alongside a wider established network of consultants covering all sub-specialties. There is weekly teaching and weekly peer-group events to support professional and personal development. The actual working hours are 40 hours, but will be paid as 12 PAs. Responsibilities
* Have clinical responsibility for assessing and reviewing people who access our services.
* Have Responsible Clinician status and be Section 12 approved.
* Provide senior medical leadership to the multi-disciplinary team.
* Undertake the assessment and management of complex cases referred and to care plan, to provide treatment formulation and guidance on evidence-based treatment and effectiveness.
* Develop professional relationships with colleagues promoting multi-disciplinary working.
Qualifications
* The post holder would be expected to be approved as a Responsible Clinician or be willing to undertake training to obtain Section 12(2) MHA and will be expected to renew this approval according to agreed procedures.
