The role
A well-established food manufacturing business is seeking an Electrical Bias Maintenance Engineer to support site operations within a fast-paced FMCG environment.
This is a technically engaging role, combining planned, predictive, and reactive maintenance with continuous improvement and project-based work. You will work across food production, high-speed packaging, and site services, playing a key role in equipment reliability and performance.
The role suits an engineer who enjoys fault finding, electrical systems, and hands-on improvement work within a modern manufacturing setting.
Key responsibilities
* Carry out planned preventative, predictive, and breakdown maintenance
* Support refurbishment, installation, modification, and upgrade of plant and equipment
* Drive continuous improvement and process optimisation initiatives
* Deliver electrical installation and modification project work
* Electrical fault finding and modification of PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and control panels
* Maintain high standards of engineering, food safety, and site compliance
* Support reliability of high-speed food production and packaging machinery
What we're looking for
* Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Engineering
* Ideally qualified to City & Guilds / ONC / HNC level
* Strong electrical bias with solid mechanical fault-finding capability
* Experience fault finding on PLC systems, control panels, HMIs, and SCADA
* Background in a fast-paced manufacturing environment (food or FMCG preferred)
* Knowledge of electrical isolations and electrical health & safety standards
* Experience working on high-speed production and packaging machinery
* 17th Edition qualification advantageous
