SEN Class Teacher and Literacy Lead. Hillingdon, West London £40,000 to £60,000 (salary is dependent on experience and/or qualifications) Start date: SEPT 2025. Permanent position. An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and experienced teacher to join a specialist school in Hillingdon from September 2025. The school is a provision to students with a diverse range of needs including moderate to severe and complex learning needs, sensory processing difficulties and associated speech, language and communication difficulties, including autistic spectrum disorders. We are seeking a committed and creative Literacy Lead to champion the development of reading, writing, and communication across the school. You will play a pivotal role in shaping a rich and inclusive literacy curriculum that enables every learner to thrive, no matter their starting point. What you’ll be doing: Leading on whole-school literacy strategy, raising standards and outcomes across all key stages Collaborating with staff to embed a consistent and impactful approach to literacy teaching Supporting the development of targeted interventions to meet the diverse needs of learners Driving a love of reading and storytelling throughout the school community Monitoring, evaluating, and celebrating literacy progress across the curriculum What we’re looking for: A qualified teacher with a strong background in literacy and curriculum development Proven experience of raising literacy standards in a school or specialist provision An enthusiastic, reflective practitioner with excellent interpersonal skills Passionate about inclusive education and empowering learners with SEND This is a unique chance to lead literacy in a nurturing, values-driven environment where creativity and personal development are encouraged.
