2025 marks MoneyGram Haas F1 Team's tenth season in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship. As the first American F1 team since 1986, we aim to challenge the status quo and grow our presence in motorsport. Our team, known as the ‘family team,’ operates from three headquarters in Kannapolis (US), Banbury (UK), and Maranello (Italy), driven by passionate professionals committed to excellence.
Position Summary
This role reports to the Composites Team Leader in Banbury, UK. You will be responsible for bonding, assembling, servicing, and repairing composite components for race and heritage cars.
Key Responsibilities
1. Promote teamwork and effective communication across departments.
2. Maintain cleanliness and condition of the work area.
3. Follow engineering procedures related to assembly, operation, and safety.
4. Collaborate with the Composite Team Leader on workloads and fault diagnosis.
5. Manage stock levels of components and consumables, coordinating with trackside and factory teams.
6. Assist in managing the flow of composite components between the track, factory, and suppliers.
7. Work cross-functionally to ensure proper testing and assembly of updates and test items.
8. Support departments with turnarounds, engineering projects, car builds, and events.
9. Report reliability issues promptly and seek advice for out-of-the-ordinary tasks.
10. Follow all safety regulations at all venues.
11. Perform any additional duties delegated by the Team Leader.
Qualifications
GCSE, High School Diploma, or equivalent required. 2-3 years of experience in a similar composite role within motorsport is preferred, but candidates with strong professionalism and service record may be considered.
Skills and Knowledge
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Strong technical background in racing cars.
* Ability to interpret technical drawings and assembly instructions.
* Knowledge of composite repair techniques, including bonding, laminating, and resin selection.
* Basic fabrication and machining skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Quick decision-making and problem-solving skills.
* Team-oriented with good interpersonal skills.
* Positive attitude and willingness to assist colleagues.
Equipment and Environment
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Dynamics AX, and 3DX preferred.
* Mechanical aptitude.
* Ability to follow complex regulations regarding shipment and facility maintenance.
Physical Demands
Must be able to work in a high-pressure, time-sensitive environment, including domestic and international travel. The role may involve lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, squatting, manual dexterity, and working around machinery, race cars, and hazardous materials. Compliance with health and safety policies is mandatory.
Work Environment
The environment includes machinery, race cars, rigs, debris, and fluids. Flexibility in working hours, including weekends, is required.
