About Us

The Network Coordination function ensures the smooth running of the road network. We coordinate utility, developer and private work on the highway, manage performance and minimise disruption to the travelling public under the Oxfordshire Permit Scheme and Oxfordshire Lane Rental Scheme, in line with relevant legislation including NRSWA 1991. We work as part of the wider Network Management Team.


About The Role

We are looking for 3 Senior Officers within the Network Coordination Team to join the start of our new Lane Rental Scheme. The role will provide network coordination services for road and street works, events planning and proposed works across the County.

* Provide programme advice to Works Promoters and Developers and provide active travel and bus mitigations during the works.
* Manage Section 50 applications and assist with traffic management agreements for S278 works.
* Liaise with Operational and Permit Staff.
* Undertake live and scheduled inspections of streetworks ensuring compliance with the Oxfordshire Permit Scheme, Oxfordshire Lane Rental Scheme and the New Roads & Street Works Act (NRSWA 1991) and Codes of Practice.
* Report directly to the Team Leader Network Coordination and support the wider team to maximise compliance on the network.
* Assist with supervision and mentoring of other staff.


About You

You should be educated to BTEC Level 3 or equivalent with relevant professional qualifications or significant experience in this field; be in possession of a current NRSWA Streetworks Supervisor Card/LANTRA certification. You will have a sound knowledge of the latest legislative requirements as they relate to NRSWA. Be able to work on initiative and alone, ideally you will have previous experience of working at a similar level in Local Government or a Utility. You will require excellent interpersonal and communications skills and liaise with internal and external stakeholders. Staff will mainly work out on site; you may be designated to work in various locations across the County and come to the office as required, which is Ron Groves House in Kidlington. The remainder of the team works remotely and comes into the office weekly.
