Community Learning Disability Assistant Practitioner - Band 4 F/T Adult Learning Disability Service
Location: West Argyll (MAKI and OLI)
Contract: 37 hours, 1 WTE
About us
The Learning Disability service provides a specialist multidisciplinary service to Adults with a Learning Disability requiring health intervention beyond mainstream services across Argyll and Bute. The team includes a Professional Lead, Specialist Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, a Consultant Psychologist, and Medical Secretaries. Referrals are discussed weekly at allocation meetings.
About the role
We are seeking a Band 4 Assistant Practitioner to support our Adult Learning Disability Team. The role involves working alongside nurses, supporting caseloads, and providing flexible support across services. The post can be based in Lochgilphead or Oban, covering these areas.
You will work under the supervision of a registered Nurse, using assessment skills and developing your expertise to support adults with Learning Disabilities in maintaining their health and well-being.
About you
Applicants should be confident communicators with previous experience at a senior HCSW level (Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Rehab Nursing) or as a Band 3/4 Assistant Practitioner. A driving license, good organisational and IT skills, and the ability to prioritise a varied workload are essential.
