Outreach Adviser – Migrant Help
Location: Homebased (Covering Scotland)
Contract: Fixed term until 12 January 2027 (potential to be extended or made permanent)
Salary: £29,498 – increasing to £33,590 after 6 months probation

The Outreach Adviser Role
Part of the Outreach team, the Outreach Adviser is a client‑focused role within our Advice, Issue Reporting and Eligibility (AIRE) service. You will support national Asylum Services, providing telephone and face‑to‑face advice to the most vulnerable asylum seekers across the UK, ensuring compliance with Home Office standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist clients with applications for Asylum Support and Move‑on Services
* Signpost clients to specialised support where required
* Manage a caseload, offering appropriate support within designated timeframes
* Keep accurate, up‑to‑date case records and complete case follow‑ups within required timescales; undertake necessary administrative tasks
* Ensure work meets overall quality standards and, where possible, exceeds them in line with Government and other stakeholder contracted arrangements
* Provide advice and guidance to asylum seekers as required
* Signpost and refer clients to other services as appropriate
* Report safeguarding concerns to accommodation providers and the Home Office
Qualifications & Experience
* Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with diverse groups
* Experience working in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment
* Proven ability to prioritise and work on own initiative while respecting boundaries
* Ability to work flexibly on own initiative and as part of a team as required
* Excellent computer skills, including Word, Excel and databases; particularly in making and keeping accurate and timely records
Checks: Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) check and Counter Terrorism Check (CTC) are required. Applicants must provide:
* Valid passport (10‑year full British passport, EU or non‑EU passport with indefinite leave to remain)
* Continuous UK address history for the previous 5 years
* Full employment history for the previous 3 years or suitable documentation covering any gaps
