Project Technician - Network Design & Construction team
Full time - 40 hours per week
Salary – £36,500 To £43,000 Depending On Experience
Location – Hanningfield, Chelmsford - Mobile Worker
Responsibilities
* Lead and drive the timely and safe delivery of activities within the Network Design & Construction function.
* Provide in-field advice and support on Lead activities; collaborate with contractors and internal stakeholders.
* Monitor the quality of workmanship and ensure compliance with Water Regulations; uphold high standards in delivering new water assets.
* Coordinate planning or interruption-to-supply processes and ensure safe operation of the Networks, including valve operations in line with policy.
* Work with the Water Networks team to ensure no issues arise once a scheme of work is confirmed.
* Ensure all work is carried out safely and in accordance with risk assessments and method statements; maintain a visible presence across construction sites.
* Attend site meetings with contractors and Project Managers; engage with customers as required; maintain excellent organisational and communication skills.
* Support and uphold health & safety standards and regulations on all construction activity; ensure contractors are compliant at all times.
About You / Qualifications
* Proactive with a can-do attitude; able to problem solve and deliver completed works safely and on time.
* Excellent customer service and ability to build relationships with customers, developers, colleagues and key stakeholders.
* Ideally understanding of Oracle Field Services and GIS (full training available for the right candidate).
* Understanding and appreciation of DMEX desirable.
* Best practice followed in all construction works impacting the network; Water Regulation experience advantageous; knowledge of network design standards and service connection procedures.
* Prospective employees and agency workers in defined safety and security critical roles may be required to undertake a drug and alcohol test after a job offer (prior to or within four weeks of start date).
